Meloni: “USA and Italy speak the same language, a good thing for the unity of the West”

"I have always looked with a hint of admiration at the way the American people celebrate the Declaration of Independence, the birth certificate of the United States. It is more than just a national holiday, it is something that every citizen carries in their heart every day and it sums up the identity of the United States" and their values of "equality, democracy and freedom". This is what Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said while speaking at the celebrations at Villa Taverna for US independence, which is celebrated on July 4.
The Prime Minister states: "Today, Italy and the United States speak the same language on many issues, this is a very positive element in the complex international framework we are facing, it is good for our relations but also for the strength, unity and compactness of the West, which is essential for facing all the great challenges of our time".
Meloni explains: “The relationship between Italy and the USA is based on "loyalty, mutual respect" and "the awareness that the strength of one is that of the other". The "compactness of the West" that this good relationship can facilitate is "a good thing" "even more so when our points of view do not coincide".
